| Why Managing your Career? |
| Career development in contemporary terms represents
a partnership between organisations and their employees. Organisations
provide the infrastructure and developmental opportunities within which
employees manage their careers. In this approach, employees gain an
awareness of their interests, values as well as existing and latent
competencies. They are then guided to examine their degree of ‘fit’ within
the organisation in an objective manner. Subsequently, they focus on
the immediate and future needs of the organisation to align competencies
and plan their careers effectively. Managers who have direct reports
will go through an additional program aimed at developing career coaching
skills. |

| Why Career Management Coaching?y
Creative Change Leadership |
Organisations that value and emphasise self-managed
career development need to provide the infrastructure and means to
support such initiatives. In this respect, it is critical that managers
at all levels are equipped with skills to support the initiatives
of their direct reports. This program provides the coaching skills
necessary to support the learning content of Career Management.
Given the differences in goals and structure of various organisations,
this and Career Management are designed and customised to reflect
those needs. |
